Reliable access to community care e.g. Home Care Packages, Home Help, Respite Care, Day Care
Local Transport
Involvement in community and voluntary groups & activities

Please deliver on your promises in the Programme for Government and support older people’s rights to live well at home.

protect the standard of living of our older adults, they deserve to live without worry

I am a Senior Citizen, disabled but still active. I do not qualify for a Medical Card. Therefore, it is essential that, as I become less able, I will be able to stay in my home THUS SAVING THE HOSPITAL SERVICES CONSIDERABLE EXPENSE.

Mr Kenny, as a 65 year old who has begun to experience medical problems associated with age in the last year, and whose husband underwent a triple by-pass in March of this year, I am seriously concerned at the prospect of cutbacks in support for the aging population. We are the ones who suffered over 60% taxation under Fianna Fail while raising 5 children, and enduring punitive mortgage rates on buying our house. We now feel that we are bearing the brunt of Celtic Tiger greed at a time when we need services such as transport and home support more than ever.

I am a widow and live alone. Like many parents in Ireland I have children living abroad. I want to stay in my family home as long as I can.

Living a life with independence and integrity is the right of every person in Ireland. This right should not be suspended because a person reaches an age where health issues and mobility hinder these rights.Please support the funding necessary so that older people can age with dignity within their home.
